Armando Fuerte is in his third year of teaching and joining the Newman Smith Choirs as the Assistant Choir Director. He previously served as the Director of Choirs at both Lake Travis and Bee Cave Middle Schools in Lake Travis ISD in Austin, TX. Choirs under his direction have earned Superior ratings at the UIL Concert & Sight Reading evaluation and his passion for relationships and students have been at the forefront of his teaching philosophy. He serves as an assistant section leader at the Texas Tech University All-State Choir Camp and has served as the Tenor Section leader at the Capital City Choir Camp. He is an active performer, previously singing with the Chamber Ensemble of Chorus Austin, Capital City Chamber Choir, and the Chancel Choir at Westlake Presbyterian Church.

 

His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, and the Texas Choral Directors Association, with which he serves as the Logistics Co-Chair for their summer conventions.

 

Mr. Fuerte is a proud Summa Cum Laude graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education.
